After the United Nations fourth World Conference on women in Beijing-China, which was attended by a group of Afghan women from various organizations and UN agencies, the idea of establishing a network to promote unity and cooperation among Afghan women organizations, was formed. Inspired by women's movement in different parts of the world, in 1995 the participants along with other Afghan women decided to establish the Afghan Women's Network (AWN).
Afghan Women's Network is a corn stone of Afghanistan's fledging women's movement, serving as a well-established largest women network for the growing number of women's organizations operating in the country. AWN has had a strong presence in Kabul, Herat and Jalalabad, while also working through local partners in all the provinces and serving as an umbrella for the advocacy in our priority areas such as Women Peace and Security; Women's Political Participation and Leadership ; Women Social and Legal Participation Through Awareness and Advocacy; Networking and Capacity Building. At present, AWN has over 115 member organizations and 3000 individual members in both all the provinces of Afghanistan.
Composed of thirteen member countries, FECCIWA was established in 1994 to provide a forum for Christian Councils and Churches In West Africa to facilitate and promote peace making and peace building, food security and poverty reduction, good governance, human rights, capacity building, solidarity and networking among Christian Councils and Churches in the areas of Food Security, HIV/AIDS, Corruption, Small Arms elimination, Gender based violence and women empowerment and Advocacy. Through the prophetic voice of churches FECCIWA raises awareness on political issues, which affect the development of Africa. The Fellowship communicates with decision makers and makes use its network of National Christian Councils and Churches to reach out to West African societies and church constituencies.
FONGTIL is an Organization founded by non Government Organizations in 1998. It is non profit, non sectarian and non partisan and is composed of 380 members of NGO around 13 districts: local, national & International; 24 networks at national and district levels; International NGOs Platform and Network in the Regional and International Level.
FONGTIL's mission is to work with and support its member organisations to:
a. Promote and advocate in all sectors for the wellbeing and interests of all Timorese citizens;
b. Work towards ensuring that the people of Timor-Leste are free from all forms of injustice, including poverty, exploitation and discrimination, and have the opportunity to participate openly and freely in the political and democratic decision-making process;
c. Support and strengthen the NGO sector to be an effective voice for all Timorese citizens, especially the most vulnerable members of our community.
Forum National sur la Dette et la Pauvreté (Côte d'Ivoire)
Le FNDP a pour objectif de mobiliser l'opinion nationale et internationale sur l'impact de la dette extérieure de la Côte d'Ivoire ; d'amener les institutions financières internationales et les partenaires au développement à une annulation totale de la dette extérieure de Côte d'Ivoire ; de contribuer à une répartition équitable des gains de cette annulation en faveur des plus pauvres. Les objectifs spécifiques de FNDP sont les suivants : mobiliser la population ivoirienne autour du problème de la dette ; sensibiliser les partenaires multilatéraux et bilatéraux, les décideurs et les populations sur l'impact de la dette et la pauvreté ; contribuer à annihiler la pauvreté en participant comme société civile à la bonne gestion nationale des gains de la remise totale de la dette en direction des plus défavorisés ; être une voix de dialogue et de concertation entre les pouvoirs publics et les populations sur toutes les questions relatives à la dette et la réduction de la pauvreté ; rester attentif aux nouveaux endettements publics et à leur utilisation ; assurer la formation des membres sur toutes les questions de la dette et la pauvreté. GADET-Pentagon (South Sudan)
GADET-Pentagon strives to promote peace through conflict transformation, good governance, rule of law, human rights, youth and women empowerment through research, advocacy, skills trainings and capacity building for Promotion of justice, dignity, respect to supremacy of rule of law, fundamental rights and inclusive decision making). Its ongoing activities are:
• Public resource governance (research on the impact of oil exploration and production in the oil producing communities of Unity and Upper Nile States, development of the training manual with extraction of key messages from the petroleum Act 2012, dissemination of the petroleum act 2012 (November 2012-October 2013),
• Enhancing capacity of civil society in south Sudan, a programme for the implementation of the new deal funded by world vision in partnership with safer world (June 2013- December 2013),
• Lead agency for the thematic area of natural resource governance for the Constitutional review process of civil society resource team across the ten states of South Sudan (June 2013-August 2013)
La Maison des Organisations de la Société Civile (MOSC - Comores) a été créé le 16 juin 2011, avec l'appui technique et financière de l'Union européenne à travers son Programme de Coopération Décentralisé(PCD) dans le but de regrouper les associations et ONG à but non lucratif afin d'avoir une action commune. Bien que géographiquement Comores soit composée des îles, Il y a trois MOSC qui travaillent en réseau: MOSC Ngazidja qui compte 55 associations et ONG qui assure le pilotage de tous les MOSCs : MOSC d'Anjouan qui compte 30 associations et ONG et MOSC de Mohéli qui compte 20 associations et ONG. MOSC a comme objectifs de promouvoir les Organisations de la Société Civile afin d'assurer une synergie des actions gage d'un développement harmonieux et durable ; d'organiser, structurer et développer des compétences fortes dans une posture d'accompagnement aux membres qui la sollicitent et s'assurer de l' implication de la société civile dans les prises de décisions.
The Organisation des Acteurs non Etatiques du Tchad (OANET) was created on April 24, 2001 following the signing of the Cotonou agreements between the European Union and the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.
The mandate and mission of OANET is to provide direction and advice on cooperation and development; to nominate relevant non state actors representatives for the various phases of the ACP dialogue; to facilitate discussions and consultations between different groups of non state actors and support them in developing their capacities to be partners for development.
OANET acts in support to the implementation process of the National Poverty Reduction Strategies (NRPS) by ensuring a better participation of Civil Society; in support of processes for conflict prevention, mitigation and management; in providing services to its members and strengthening the capacities of Civil Society Organizations.
The Organization for Sustainable and Integrated Development in Guinea abbreviated ODDI-Guinea is a non-governmental non-political and non-profit organization. The organisation is licensed with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization since April 5, 2011.
ODDI-Guinea's mission is to support all initiatives of civil society that strive for local self-development, promotion of national expertise and participation of grassroots communities to the process of sustainable development.
To achieve its mission, ODDI-Guinea has set several objectives including:
- Contribute to the development of socio-economic activities in Guinea;
- Contribute to the promotion and sustainability of social peace;
- Participate in the dialogue of cultures in Africa and internationally through trade
The Programme for CSO Conflict Prevention and Management Capacity Building in Central Africa (PREGESCO) is an initiative from more than 200 CSOs and 9 CSO Platforms from Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, CAR, Chad, DRC, Gabon and Rwanda. It is based in Kinshasa, DRC.
Its goal is to enhance social and economic governance trough the active and efficient participation of civil society to conflict prevention and management in Central Africa.
Its main work streams are: promoting peace, participating to the strengthening of political legitimacy, promoting human security, participating to the promotion of justice, supporting participative good governance.
PREGESCO-CAR gathers several national Civil Society Organisations that have been engaged in the peaceful prevention, management and resolution of conflicts in the Central African Republic for several years. PREGESCO-CAR is still engaged in several phases of negotiation and conclusion of political agreement between the parties as much as in the monitoring of recommendations adopted in several meetings to achieve the peaceful prevention and resolution of conflicts affecting CAR. PREGESCO-CAR has been involved in the organisation of national forums and training, informing and raising the awareness of social and political actors for the peaceful resolution of conflicts. It participates actively in monitoring electoral processes always through the training and awareness raising of electoral actors to prevent postelectoral conflicts.
Réseau Femmes et Paix (Burundi)
Réseau Femmes et Paix or RFP was founded in March 1999. Its intervention strategies are the implementation of projects on the ground by member organizations and groups, facilitating joint work of civil society and the media, collaborating with local governments and integrating Gender dimensions in projects. RFP has the vision of a peaceful, rich and striving Burundi where women fully enjoy their civic, political, economic and social rights. Its mission is to contribute to women's participation in pursuing peace research and peacebuilding, and to promote development in Burundi. Its goals are to work for the effective involvement of women in peacebuilding and reconciliation initiatives, to strengthen women's economic capacities, to advocate the government on integrating of Gender in the country's development programs, to eliminate gender-based violence. RFP's intervention strategies are peace and security, good governance, human rights and poverty reduction.
Somalia Civil Society Coalition (Somalia)
The formation of Somali Civil Society Coalition was initiated by a group of CSO associations scattered around South and Centeral of Somalia and Puntland. In March 2012 the Somali CSO forum was held in Entebbe in which 120 Somali Civil Society participated the meeting amongst the most credible Somali CSOs from South and Centeral and Puntland zones. The aim of the meeting was to unify the Somali civil society voice by establishing Somali Civil Society Coalition (SCSC). The structure of SCSC was formed and By-laws were verified and legal representation of CSOs of Somalia was endorsed and accepted. The SCSC has come up with a short term working plan for their respective role in Roadmap Process in which the objective was to end of transition of Somali government and establish new government. The intention of the CSO was to have a bigger stake in the process of roadmap by participating the conferences and actively taking part the constitution making process. The SCSC took part the formation of the new government legal frameworks such as ratification of the new constitution, and building the legislative institution by selection of members of the parliament, safeguard the adoption of women quota in the parliament, observe the presidential election process and advocate the empowerment of women and youth by nominating key ministerial position. The SCSC had successfully achieved the main objectives of the planned activities of the Roadmap.
Sierra Leone Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (SLANGO)
Sierra Leone Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (SLANGO) is a consortium of NGOs, both local and foreign, with the primary role of ensuring co-ordination among its members. SLANGO's vision is to create a significant impact for communities through NGO's demonstrating a high level capacity, effective coordination, monitoring and evaluation. SLANGO serves as a unified voice of the NGO community in Sierra Leone, it forms the link that exists among the NGOs, Government institutions and donor agencies in order to promote the interests of its constituents. SLANGO is the CSPPS Focal point Organization in Sierra Leone promoting co-ordination, networking and harmonization of NGO activities around peacebuilding and statebuilding.
Voz di Paz (VdP)
Voz di Paz est l'Initiative Pour la Consolidation de la Paix en Guinée-Bissau. L'organisation a été fondé en 2007 comme un programme initié par Interpeace en partenariat avec l'Institut National d'Etudes et Recherche (INEP), mais en 2010 elle est devenu une Organisation Non-Gouvernementale. Ses stratégies d'intervention sont recherche participative et action inclusive. Sa mission est de relever les défis de la création d'un environnement de paix durable en Guinée-Bissau. Ses objectifs sont de contribuer au développement pacifique et harmonieux de la Guinée-Bissau.
Youth without Borders Organization for Development (YWBOD) is a Yemeni non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization, based in Taiz, working youth's engagement in peacebuilding and civil life. It achieves this by implementing a variety of interventions and projects including, but not limited to, capacity building, awareness raising, researches, advocacy and networking. It was officially established in 2013, implementing a number of peacebuilding and other projects. It is a number of local networks such as (TND), national networks such as (YNERL) and international networks such as (IPYG), (UNOY), (GLTN), (CCPPS) and (ICSC).
The Asian Academy for Peace Research and Development (in short Asian Peace Academy) is a Kathmandu based not for Profit Company, specialising in areas including, peacebuilding and conflict transformation, community development and governance Monitoring and Evaluation. With vision and mission of contributing to peaceful, just and prosperous society in the country, Asian Academy works with and for peacebuilding and development organisations in Kathmandu and internationally to identify local peacebuilding and development needs and support and accompanies relevant stakeholders and institutions for building local capacities that are essential to build peace, foster non- violent means of addressing differences, address governance problems and accelerate development. Recognising that building capacities is a key to achieving its vision and mission, Asian Academy engages in building capacities of local peace and development actors, particularly including youth, women, marginalised groups, political actors, civil society organisations and local government actors.

Female Prisoners Support Trust (FEMPRIST)
Female Prisoners Support Trust (FEMPRIST) is a Zimbabwean NGO entity which was formulated in 2011. The organization is involved in the counselling, rehabilitation and reintegration of female ex-convicts back into society. Its main target group is inmates who are due for release. The organization seeks to attain the following objectives: to build the capacity of female prisoners in areas of economic empowerment through training in lifetime skills; to promote health and reproductive health rights including HIV/AIDS; to create platforms where female prisoners independently meet and share pertinent issues affecting them; to mobilize resources for use by female prisoners; research and documentation; lobby and advocate for better living conditions for female prisoners; to create alternative work through environmental management clubs. FEMPRIST works closely with prison officers as well as civil society partners working in such areas as health, legal advice and education.
REPAOC est formé de 10 plates-formes nationales d'ONG regroupant plus de 1000 ONG qui travaillent directement avec les populations les plus marginalisées.

WANEP (Ghana, West Africa)
The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) Sierra Leone, like many other similar national networks in the sub-region was created with the goal of capacity building in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, good governance, gender and advocacy in order to create an enabling environment, through sustainable peace as a prerequisite, for growth and development.
WANEP Sierra Leone work is enabled by FOUR (4) key thematic areas: Women in Peacebuilding (WIPNET), Youth and Peace Education, Early Warning and Conflict Prevention, Democratic Governance and Civil Society Capacity Enhancement, which encompasses research and documentation, communication, information sharing, training, education, advocacy and support national peace, security and development framework.
The Civil Society Core Group on the NEW Deal is considered very important for WANEP Sierra Leone program team and its membership as engaging and monitoring the implementation of the NEW Deal/IDPS in Sierra Leone is one of the core aims of WANEP advocacy agenda for 2014.
The Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) is a global membership association of more than seventy peacebuilding organizations, 1,000 professionals, and a network of more than 15,000 people developing processes for change in the most complex, chaotic conflict environments around the world.
AfP is a leader in developing and disseminating innovative approaches to peacebuilding and links related fields including development, relief, human rights, democracy, security sector reform, and others. AfP connects its members and civil society actors from around the world with US policymakers and with broad international policy initiatives.
AfP is committed to evaluation and learning and serves as a bridge between academics and implementers, linking theory and practice. It works closely with local civil society organizations to provide crucial advice to policymakers in Congress, the US State Department, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), and the military. AfP facilitates collaboration among peacebuilding practitioners and thought-leaders to enhance knowledge and skills and generate new strategies.
CDA is a non-profit organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. We are committed to improving the effectiveness of international actors who provide humanitarian assistance, engage in peace practice, and are involved in supporting sustainable development. CDA produces lessons, tools and approaches oriented towards practical application and are broadly relevant across many contexts. All of CDA's findings are grounded in field experience, rather than based on a theory or model. CDA supports a variety of international actors to learn from past experience and improve work, so that impacts are increasingly positive for the people in the societies where they work. Our partners across CDA's Reflecting on Peace Practice, Do No Harm, Listening and Corporate Engagement programs include Governmental and non-Governmental organizations, local communities, as well as the private sector.

The Working Group on Peace and Development (FriEnt) is a German based network of civil society organisations, political foundations and governmental organisations active in the fields of peacebuilding, conflict prevention and development. FriEnt's members are united by their great commitment to peace and development. They vary, however, in their size, mandate, partners and approaches. These various perspectives and experiences are utilised to generate impetus for cooperation and address challenges on a joint basis.
As a platform for networking and cooperation, FriEnt creates space in which to reflect on common peacebuilding challenges, emerging trends and pressing issues in the field. FriEnt builds bridges between state and civil society actors, local and global perspectives as well as policy and practice. As an information and knowledge hub, FriEnt pools and channels information about its thematic and country-specific priorities. It also shares knowledge about its member's activities and summarises the lessons learned. Through its capacity building, FriEnt provides practical guidance and expertise for the design, implementation and evaluation of peacebuilding projects and programmes.
The Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) is a member-led network of civil society organisations (CSO's) active in the field of conflict prevention and peacebuilding across the world.
Our mission is to promote a global shift in peacebuilding from solely reacting to conflict to preventing conflicts from turning violent.
Together we work on supporting the capacity of our regional networks for collaborative action by facilitating regional and global exchanges: members from diverse regions meet to learn from each other experiences. IBP was founded in 1997 to collaborate with civil society around the world to use budget analysis and advocacy as a tool to improve governance and reduce poverty. At the core of this work is a diverse network of over 100 civil society organizations (CSOs) drawn from the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. IBP supports our partners with training and technical assistance, financial resources, and collaborative research and advocacy opportunities. Oxfam Novib is part of a world-wide development organization. Oxfam works towards fair use of the world's natural resources, a global economy that reduces inequality. Oxfam works on conflict and fragility takes a long-term approach that seeks to address underlying root causes of conflict, such as structural inequality, marginalization and lack of access to natural resources. The organization seeks to create inclusive human security for all, with an emphasis on inclusion of women and other marginalized groups. Working in alliances, Oxfam engages with decision-makers in governments, international institutions and the private sector.
The Council for International Conflict Resolution (RIKO) is an independent foreign policy think tank working towards a qualified debate on Danish foreign policy and to promote long-term, non-military contributions to international conflict resolution. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, RIKO produces solution-oriented analysis of conflict situations, informs about mediation and peacebuilding, and aspires to a genuine democratic dialogue, rooted in a well-informed decision-making basis. RIKO was founded in 2009 and the work of the organization is in general carried out by the Board, which is selected by the members on an annual basis at the general assembly. RIKO cooperates with other institutions, organizations and independents that share its purpose. RIKO became member of CSPPS in 2016.

swisspeace is a practice-oriented peace research institute. It aims to contribute to the improvement of conflict prevention and conflict transformation. The institute builds up the peacebuilding capacities of Swiss and international organizations by providing trainings, space for networking and for exchange of experiences. It also shapes political and academic discourses on peace policy issues at the national and international level through publications, workshops and conferences. swisspeace thus promotes knowledge transfer between researchers and practitioners. swisspeace was founded in 1988 as the Swiss Peace Foundation in order to promote independent peace research in Switzerland. Its most important donors are the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, the Swiss National Science Foundation, the United Nations and the Canton of Basel-Town. swisspeace hosts the Competence Centre for Peacebuilding (KOFF) which as a platform for dialogue, exchange and networking connects Swiss state and non-state peacebuilding actors in the nexus of peacebuilding, human rights and development. swisspeace is an associated institute of the University of Basel and a member of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences.
UNOY Peacebuilders is a global network strengthening sustainable youth-driven peacebuilding. It connects 70 youth peace organizations across 45 countries. UNOY Peacebuilders goal is to create a world where young people have the opportunity and skills to contribute to peace. The Network focuses its work on strengthening youth-led peacebuilding initiatives, facilitating a safe space for dialogue and conflict transformation, developing the organizational capacities of our members and bringing the voices of young people to policy makers on a regional and global level. UNOY supports youth peacebuilding organizations and mobilizes youth to become constructive, pro-active and non-violent agents of change addressing root causes and the impact of violence in their communities.
