Role of young people in promoting peaceful, just and inclusive societies

The Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS), with UNDPUNPBSOSearch for Common Ground and the United Network of Young Peacebuilders, on behalf of the Inter-Agency Working Group on Youth and Peacebuilding, will co-organize a side-event on ‘Role of young people in promoting peaceful, just and inclusive societies’ on 19th July in New York, USA in the margins of the High Level Political Forum 2017 (HLPF2017). The event will provide a platform for Member States, young people and other relevant stakeholders to discuss young people’s role in promoting peaceful, just and inclusive societies, by showcasing promising examples, innovations and by expressing and discussing challenges for meaningful participation by young people in peacebuilding. The event will focus on 3 case countries: Liberia, Sierra Leone and Afghanistan.

Proposed panelists include: Youth representatives from the selected case countries, UN Youth Envoy, Member States representatives.
