Monitoring and Reporting Progress on SDG 16
CSPPS German member organization FriEnt, in cooperation with Forum ZFD, will host an expert meeting on Monitoring and Reporting Progress on Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16). The meeting happens a day ahead of FriEnt workshop on Youth for Peace - Challenges & chances of strengthening youth participation. The meeting will provide a forum to discuss challenges and lessons learnt on the practical measurement of SDG 16 on peaceful and inclusive societies. It will be an opportunity to learn from different global initiatives and to explore challenges and opportunities for civil society Organisations and policy makers. Part of the meeting will focus on discussions on the development of a national indicator to measure peaceful and inclusive societies in Germany.
Peter van Sluijs, CSPPS Coordinator & Cordaid Senior Strategist, has been invited to make a presentation on the role of CSOs in SDG16 measurement process, lessons learnt from the New Deal monitoring tools and potential of the New Deal / International Dialogue multi-stakeholder mechanisms to ensure an inclusive approach to review progress on SDG 16.
