16+ Forum Annual Showcase
As the core of the Peaceful, Just and Inclusive pillar of the 2030 Agenda, SDG 16 is one of the more innovative aspects of the new development framework, focused on advancing government accountability, building trust, and sustaining peace. In April of 2016, WFUNA launched the 16+ Forum, a platform to bring together governments, local and international civil society organizations (CSOs), members of the UN system, the private sector and academia to discuss and share best practices on efforts to implement SDG 16+ at the national and sub-national.
The CSPPS Secretariat together with a broad representation of our membership (including our CSPPS Country Team in Sierra Leone and international representatives from various countries such as Afghanistan, Germany, UK/Ethiopia, and the Netherlands) are actively taking part in a number of the conference's plenary and break-out sessions, both as panellists and moderators.
The conference and future engagements with WFUNA will enable the CSPPS to strategically influence and provide input into the processes and practices of SDG 16+ implementation, in terms of challenges, successes and solutions, by bringing to bear civil society perspectives.
