The Power of Storytelling: Insights from the SDG16+ Storytelling Initiative

In 2025, the Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP), the Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS), Forus International, and the Transparency, Accountability and Participation (TAP) Network launched the SDG16+ Storytelling Initiative to strengthen local civil society’s capacity for storytelling as a tool to advance peacebuilding, justice, and the implementation of SDG16+ for peaceful, just, and inclusive societies. 

Three webinars took place throughout the year, in which storytelling as a tool for advocacy, SDG16+ and its interlinkages, and finally storytelling in restricted environments were discussed. You can look back at the webinars here:

Throughout webinars, experts from the field have shared their stories, expertise and knowledge around SDG16+, which have been captured into a synthesis of learnings and key takeaways for effective storytelling.
